Vickie received her licensed practical nursing from Dekalb Baptist Hospital located in Fort Payne, Alabama in 1983. She graduated from Northeast State Junior College in Rainisville with an Associate of Science in nursing and a registered nursing degree in 1986. In 2004, she graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville with a Masters in nursing specializing in adult and gerontology. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in adult practice.
