KHALID MATIN, MD

Khalid Matin, MD obtained his medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Pakistan with honors awards. He attained his GCE O’Levels through the University of London. Dr. Matin was granted his Doctor of Medicine after passing the ECFMG (Philadelphia) USMLE steps I, II, and III.

He completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center, University of Minnesota and a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Dr. Matin is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He holds licensure in Alabama and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Before joining Southeast Cancer Network, Dr. Matin was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Dept. of Medicine, at the University of Pittsburgh with academic interest in developing GI oncoclogy clinical trials. He was also Staff Oncologist in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pittsburgh where he developed a collaborative GI oncology clinic.

Dr. Matin holds memberships in a number of professional societies to include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Matin enjoys spending quality time with his wife Dr. Sadia Shah, and his two children Alizeh and Saad.
